Miley Cyrus isn’t still determining if she wants to be a mom. In an interview with W Magazine, the 31-year-old singer recently opened up about her uncertainty. “I’m 31 now, and I still don’t know if I want kids,” she admits. “I feel like my fans are like my kids somehow.”

Cyrus also referenced her godmother, iconic country music star Dolly Parton, who didn’t have kids either. “I’ve heard Dolly say that too,” she adds.
Miley is enjoying her current stage in adulthood. “I love being an adult,” she says. “I have a rule: I don’t look up or down at anyone. I look, which allows me the clarity to see the world for what it really is and people for who they really are. I look at myself almost every day in the mirror and say, ‘I am a woman.’

In a candid 2019 interview with Elle, Cyrus shared similar thoughts about not pursuing motherhood at the time. She wanted to challenge the expectation that women should prioritize having children. “We’re expected to keep the planet populated. And when that isn’t part of our plan or purpose, there is so much judgment and anger. They try to make and change laws to force it upon you — even if you become pregnant in a violent situation,” she said.
“If you don’t want children, people feel sorry for you, like you’re a cold, heartless person who’s not capable of love. Why are we trained that love means putting yourself second and those you love first? If you love yourself, then what? You come first.”
Cyrus has decided to refrain from having children until major environmental changes happen. “We’re getting handed a damaged planet, and I refuse to hand that down to my child. Until I feel like my kid would live on earth with fish in the water, I’m not bringing another person into the world to deal with that,” she told Elle.
